USC was beaten by Stanford earlier in the year and was blown out by Texas last weekend.Clay Helton had a promising start to his career as USC’s head coach, but he’s starting to see his name pop up on some “hot seat” lists. The “hot seat” talk was developing quite a bit on Friday night. An NFL head coach was actually named a candidate for the USC job if it was to open up.“If Clay Helton gets fired, good luck finding an obvious USC candidate,” USA TODAY’s Dan Wolken tweeted. “Best name is Mike Tomlin but I’d be a bit surprised if he wanted to coach in college.”If Clay Helton gets fired, good luck finding an obvious USC candidate. I’ve had a few conversations on that topic this week and it’s a ??♂️.
