Prahran High School students reunite

first_img Facebook Twitter: @NeosKosmos Instagram For thirty years, Prahran High School was always known for having strong links to the Greek community, with a majority of students being of Greek heritage. So it was no surprise to see that last Saturday the Prahran High School Reunion at the Mt Erica Hotel was buzzing with former students and teachers who came from far and wide. Around 300 former students gathered to spend a wonderful day with their classmates. Among them was Neos Kosmos photographer and once Prahran High student, Kostas Deves.The Prahran High School operated for 30 years before closing at the end of 1996. The school served a multi-cultural community with night classes for adults. In the mid-1970s, about 80 per cent of the school’s 1200 students had a migrant background. Two decades later, with a student population of less than 400, the school amalgamated with Caulfield to form Glen Eira College, and the buildings on Orrong Reserve were demolished to extend the public space.last_img read more
