Wickham told an interview with Dominica Vibes on 9 December 2014 that the UWP should review Linton as its political leader if it wants to win the 2019 general election. “I think it’s out of order for a person like Peter Wickham to be making comments like that. That is a matter for the United Workers Party to determine who its leader is,” Sir Brian said.Wickham also suggested that the party should seek a leader to match the qualities of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit. “We may not all agree with a particular leader that’s inevitable, leadership is not God and leaders are not perfect, no leader is perfect but every organization, every party needs to choose its own leader,” Sir Brian stated. He added that the selection of leadership for any party should be determined by its membership and supporters. “I am not making any judgment on whether this person or that person should be leader, I think that’s for the party to determine and let the people make a judgment on whether that leader or that candidate for the particular constituency is the right person that they would like to cast their votes for,” he said. Lennox Linton took over the leadership of the UWP from former prime minister Edison James on 1 September 2013. Share Sharing is caring!center_img Share 440 Views   4 comments Tweetlast_img read more
