958L teachers passed NIOSs DElEd exam says official

first_imgNew Delhi: In a major announcement, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) declared the final results of the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), which was specially organised to train non-trained teachers already serving in schools. As per the results, out of the total 12.11 lakh candidates, who have registered for the exam, 9.58 lakh candidates have been declared successful on Wednesday.However, the results of those 1.99 lakh successful non-trained teachers have been withheld as they have not secured mandated 50 per cent marks in their intermediate or Class 12 examination. The results of all such candidates would be declared once they clear their Class 12 exam securing 50 per cent marks. Also Read – Pak activated 20 terror camps & 20 launch pads along LoCWhile talking to reporters, NIOS chairman Chandra Bhushan Sharma said, “A total of 13 lakh non-trained teachers had registered for the course, but out of this only 12.11 lakh teachers’ registration were found valid. Out of the total 9,58,513 successful candidates, 1.35 lakh teachers are of government schools, while 1.37 lakh teachers are of government-aided schools and 9.45 lakh teachers are of private schools.” Interestingly, out of all the successful teachers, 70 per cent are women, Sharma said, adding that the failed candidates would get the opportunity to clear the exam again.last_img read more
