Appeal by convicts in Khuram Shaikh murder to be heard

Khuram Shaikh was killed and his girlfriend was raped at a hotel in Sri Lanka on Christmas Day in 2011.He suffered 45 separate injuries. Sampath Vidanapathirana was jailed for his murder three years later, along with three other men. (Colombo Gazette) An appeal filed by the convicts in the murder of British national Khuram Shaikh and rape of his Russian girlfriend, is to be heard next year.The former Chairman of the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha, Sampath Vidanapathirana and four others, who were sentenced to 20-years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) over the case, is to be taken heard on March 01.
